“From one small plot. Mid lemon attractive. And with depth. The bouquet doesn’t speak particularly loudly but the palate does, with a gorgeous weight of fruit and impeccable length. Vaudésir with a softer edge, but not overdone, and you cannot change the shape of the wine in the mouth. Drink from 2027-2034. Tasted: June 2022.”

The 2020 Chablis Vaudésir Grand Cru, aged in demi-muids for 18 months, has an attractive nose with apricot blossom and white peach, a touch of wax resin in the background. The palate is proportional and displays nice acidity. I appreciate the tension in this Vaudésir, poised with quite a persistent spicy finish that urges you back for another sip. Very fine.
